Sponsorship Opportunities

Invitation to sponsorship

We are pleased to invite you to join us in Reykjavik at the NOK2022 and RIWC2022 Congresses to be held in Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre on 9 – 11 June 2022.

This is an important international event.  Ophthalmologists, scientists, patients, and their relatives will together hold an event that will involve, among other things, presentations on research developments in the field of incurable blindness caused by eye disease. It is safe to say that this is a unique event.

Two congresses will be held during the same period in Harpa. On the one hand there is NOK2022, the Nordic Congress of Ophthalmology, a congress that is held every other year. This congress was last held in Iceland in 2010 and was to be held again 2020 but postponed to 2022 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  The goal of NOK2022 is to draw attention to innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, improve the organisation of healthcare as regards eye treatment and create a shared venue for Nordic ophthalmologists for education and progress.

On the other hand, there is RIWC2022, the Retina International World Congress, which was also scheduled for 2020 in Iceland but postponed as well as NOK to 2022.  Retina International is an international organisation of patients, family members and scientists. The object of the organisation is to promote and support research that can lead to treatments for incurable, genetic, degenerative diseases of the retina. These include diseases such as AMD, LCA, RP, Usher and Stargardt to name a few.

The organisers of these two congresses have agreed on shared items of the agenda as well as shared industry Exhibition and Sponsorship. Attendees are expected to be around 800-900. The opening ceremony where the participants are welcomed will be a joint affair. The ceremony will be on Thursday, 9 June and The President of Iceland has responded positively, albeit with reservations, to address the guests at the ceremony.

Co-operation with the industry is essential for a high-quality congress and we hope for your support to make these congresses successful.

We look forward seeing you in Reykjavík next year.

On behalf of the organizing committees,

Gunnar Már Zoega for NOK2022 and Kristinn Halldór Einarsson for RIWC2022
